Why this annotation
TSC22D3 (GILZ) is a canonical glucocorticoid-induced gene and anti-inflammatory transcription factor. KLF6, FOS, RGS1, PDE4B, and CYTH1 are all known glucocorticoid/steroid response genes involved in dampening immune activation and modulating cAMP/G-protein signaling. This ensemble is consistent with a glucocorticoid response program in HPCs, which is known to suppress inflammatory activation and modulate hematopoietic progenitor behavior.
