ETS1 — ETS proto-oncogene 1, transcription factor

ETS1 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 11 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

Transcription factor. Directly controls the expression of cytokine and chemokine genes in a wide variety of different cellular contexts. May control the differentiation, survival and proliferation of lymphoid cells. May also regulate angiogenesis through regulation of expression of genes controlling endothelial cell migration and invasion. Acts as a dominant-negative for isoform c-ETS-1A
