Why this annotation
TRAC (T-cell receptor alpha constant chain) is a definitive T cell marker with no expression in NK cells. CDH17 is an intestinal epithelial cadherin. KRT81 and KRT86 are hair/epithelial keratins. These genes from distinct non-NK lineages co-occurring in a module with low expression and uniform distribution suggest ambient RNA or doublet-driven contamination. ID3 and CKLF can be expressed in NK cells but are outnumbered by clear non-NK markers. Neighbor M27 also contains TCR components (TRBC2), reinforcing that this neighborhood captures T cell/epithelial contamination signal.
