Why this annotation
COX4I2, TESC, PLCE1, CPM, GPRIN3, RGS7BP, ENTPD3 and NPY1R together form the well-documented human pericyte transcriptional signature (COX4I2 is the archetypal pericyte oxidase subunit; TESC/PLCE1/GPRIN3 are consistently pericyte-restricted). CCND1 and ISYNA1 are co-expressed in this state. GPR20/GRIP2 are low-level peripheral genes. Uniform detection and core coherence argue for a genuine pericyte sub-population of the mural compartment, neighboring the mural identity module M100 and the arteriolar module M125.
