Why this annotation
The top hub gene IL3RA (CD123) is a canonical marker of plasmacytoid dendritic cells and basophils. CD79B is a B-cell receptor component exclusive to B cells. CLEC1A is a C-type lectin expressed on dendritic cells. These three genes are strong indicators of immune cell contamination in an endothelial dataset. MYH11 and MYLK (smooth muscle myosin and kinase) suggest additional smooth muscle cell contamination. CADM1 is expressed on multiple cell types. The mixed pDC/B-cell/smooth muscle signature with moderate inflammation upregulation is consistent with contaminating immune and stromal cells co-clustering with endothelial cells.
