Why this annotation
Hub genes CREB3L3, SLC6A19, ACE2 and SLC15A1 define the classic small-intestinal-type enterocyte absorptive program. SLC6A19 (B0AT1) is chaperoned by ACE2, and SLC15A1 (PEPT1) is a di/tripeptide transporter, so the core is neutral amino acid and peptide uptake. CREB3L3 is an enterocyte lipid/apolipoprotein transcription factor, and SELENOP is secreted by absorptive enterocytes. This signature is typical of colonic enterocytes with ileal-like or metaplastic features, or of right colon. Neighbors M74 (SLC36A1, CEACAM20) and M55 (ALPI) share this absorptive axis.
