Why this annotation
RORC (RORγt), IL23R, and CCR6 are the canonical triad defining the Th17/γδT17 program. RORC is the master transcription factor for IL-17-producing T cells; IL23R is required for γδT17 maintenance and IL-17 production; CCR6 is the hallmark homing receptor of Th17 cells. Additional genes (NR1D1, CEBPD, AQP3) support this inflammatory effector identity. This module defines the IL-17-producing γδT17 subset.
