Why this annotation
This is a tightly coherent but sparsely detected module (8.8% of cells), suggesting a rare subpopulation. Notch pathway components (NOTCH2, NEURL1) co-occur with lineage TFs MEIS1 (PBX1 partner, as in M43) and PROX1. It also contains secretory/enteroendocrine-associated genes: HEPACAM2 and ADGRG4 (GPR112, an enterochromaffin marker). This points to a Notch-regulated secretory/enteroendocrine progenitor state within the epithelial compartment. The NBPF paralog family (NBPF14/19/26) may reflect multimapping noise, which lowers confidence.
