HTATIP2 — HIV-1 Tat interactive protein 2

HTATIP2 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 3 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

Represses translation by preventing reactivation of elongation factor eEF1A (By similarity). May also inhibit nuclear import by competing with nuclear import substrates for binding to a subset of nuclear transport receptors. Has additionally been proposed to act as a redox sensor involved in cellular oxidative stress surveillance.
