Why this annotation
CTSW (cathepsin W) and CST7 (cystatin F) are hallmark cytotoxic lymphocyte-specific proteases. NKG7 is a granule membrane protein marking cytotoxic T and NK cells. S1PR5 is highly expressed on effector/cytotoxic T and NK cells and mediates their tissue egress. ITGB2 (CD18) mediates cytotoxic cell adhesion to targets. HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C, HLA-E co-expression may reflect high MHC-I surface expression on cytotoxic γδ T cells or self-recognition context. This module is a coherent cytotoxic effector program characteristic of effector γδ T cells.
