Why this annotation
This is an unambiguous mast cell differentiation module. MS4A2 encodes FcεRIβ (high-affinity IgE receptor beta chain, canonical mast cell marker). TPSAB1 and TPSG1 are mast cell tryptases. ALOX5AP encodes FLAP (5-lipoxygenase activating protein), critical for leukotriene synthesis in mast cells. HDC (histidine decarboxylase) drives histamine biosynthesis, a hallmark mast cell function. MITF is the master transcription factor for mast cell identity. BACE2 is expressed in mast cells. This module is clearly a mast cell commitment/differentiation program within HPCs.
