Why this annotation

This module is a canonical NF-κB activation program. TNFAIP3 (A20) and NFKBIA (IκBα) and NFKBID (IκBNS) are all NF-κB negative feedback regulators that are themselves NF-κB target genes. SQSTM1 (p62) links NF-κB to autophagy. PTGS2 (COX-2) is a classic NF-κB inflammatory target. IER3 and MAP3K8 (TPL2) are inflammatory kinase/immediate-early components. TIFA activates TRAF6/NF-κB. TNFSF9 (4-1BBL) is an NF-κB target. SOD2 is an NF-κB-regulated antioxidant. PMAIP1 (NOXA) links to apoptotic stress. HSPA6 is a stress chaperone. The module is significantly upregulated in CD inflammation. Neighbor to M109 (HSP stress) and M113 (ATF3/DDIT3 stress TFs), forming a coherent inflammatory-stress neighborhood.
