FLNC — Filamin C

FLNC belongs to a gene co-expression module in 3 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

Muscle-specific filamin, which plays a central role in sarcomere assembly and organization. Critical for normal myogenesis, it probably functions as a large actin-cross-linking protein with structural functions at the Z lines in muscle cells. May be involved in reorganizing the actin cytoskeleton in response to signaling events (By similarity).
