Why this annotation

This module represents an effector/inflammatory activation program in MAIT cells. Hub genes include BCL2A1 (NF-κB-induced anti-apoptotic gene), CCL4, CCL3, CCL3L3, CCL4L2 (MIP-1α/β chemokines secreted by activated cytotoxic T cells), CCL20 (Th17-associated chemokine), ICAM1 (adhesion molecule induced by NF-κB), NFKBID (NF-κB modulator), TRAF1 (TNF receptor-associated factor, NF-κB pathway), EGR2 and EGR3 (immediate-early transcription factors activated downstream of TCR signaling), DUSP10 (MAP kinase phosphatase), RASGEF1B (RAS signaling), ADGRE5 (CD97, activation marker). HBB presence is anomalous but may reflect ambient RNA. SLC1A5 is a metabolic activation marker. This is consistent with TCR-driven NF-κB/inflammatory activation with chemokine secretion, characteristic of cytokine-producing effector MAIT cells. Its topological proximity to M134 (Tc17 program) is coherent — both reflect activated MAIT states, with M17 emphasizing NF-κB/chemokine output and M134 the IL-17/AHR axis.
