Why this annotation
This module combines canonical T cell activation markers (CD69, CD83, FOSB, NFKBIZ, TNFSF9/4-1BBL) with stress and pro-apoptotic genes (PPP1R15A/GADD34, PMAIP1/NOXA, CYCS/cytochrome c, PHLDA1, BTG2). MCL1 is an anti-apoptotic survival factor upregulated upon activation. KLF6 and BTG2 are transcriptional regulators induced upon activation. DNAJA1 is a chaperone supporting protein folding under stress. CD69 and CD83 are the earliest surface markers of T cell activation, and TNFSF9 (4-1BBL) is expressed on activated T cells. The co-expression of activation and stress/apoptosis genes likely reflects early activation-induced stress, a known program in stimulated MAIT cells. Neighbor context: shares immediate early gene themes with M110 and M116, but is more distinctly activation-oriented via CD69/CD83/TNFSF9.
