Why this annotation

Driven by the NR4A orphan nuclear receptor family (NR4A1/2/3) together with MYC, ZNF331, KLF9, RASD1, DUSP8, HIPK2 and PHLDA1 — a coherent secondary immediate-early/serum-response transcription program. Coupled to it are the stress/activation-inducible secreted metalloproteases ADAMTS1, ADAMTS4 and ADAMTS9 (top hub), which are direct NR4A/AP-1 target genes in smooth muscle and fibroblasts and mediate proteoglycan (versican) turnover. AVPR1A reflects the visceral SMC GPCR context. Uniform expression with no foreign-lineage enrichment; its neighbors M79/M91 confirm this is the NR4A-driven arm of the same acute activation cascade, here with an ECM-proteolysis output.
