Why this annotation
NR2F2 (COUP-TFII) is a master transcription factor for pericyte/mural cell identity and venous specification. ZEB2 is an EMT/mesenchymal transcription factor expressed in pericytes. GUCY1A1 (sGC alpha1, NO signaling), SYNPO2 and LMOD1 (smooth muscle cytoskeletal), ADAMTS5 (ECM protease), NFASC (neurofascin, cell adhesion), ARHGAP15 (Rho GAP), RERG (Ras-related GTPase), INPP4B (PI signaling), and PLPPR4 (lipid phosphatase) together define a pericyte differentiation/identity program with ECM remodeling capacity. The moderate inflammation upregulation suggests this program is modulated but not primarily inflammatory.
