SCUBA

FXYD6 — FXYD domain containing ion transport regulator 6

FXYD6 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 5 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

Associates with and regulates the activity of the sodium/potassium-transporting ATPase (NKA) which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of Na(+) and K(+) ions across the plasma membrane. Reduces the apparent affinity for intracellular Na(+) with no change in the apparent affinity for extracellular K(+). In addition to modulating NKA kinetics, may also function as a regulator of NKA localization to the plasma membrane (By similarity).
