PABPC4 — Poly(A) binding protein cytoplasmic 4
PABPC4 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 7 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function
Binds the poly(A) tail of mRNA. Binds to SMIM26 mRNA and plays a role in its post-transcriptional regulation. May be involved in cytoplasmic regulatory processes of mRNA metabolism. Can probably bind to cytoplasmic RNA sequences other than poly(A) in vivo (By similarity).
