SCUBA

ZBTB16 — Zinc finger and BTB domain containing 16

ZBTB16 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 8 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

Acts as a transcriptional repressor. Transcriptional repression may be mediated through recruitment of histone deacetylases to target promoters. May play a role in myeloid maturation and in the development and/or maintenance of other differentiated tissues. Probable substrate-recognition component of an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins.
