FXYD5 — FXYD domain containing ion transport regulator 5
FXYD5 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 9 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function
Associates with and regulates the activity of the sodium/potassium-transporting ATPase (NKA) which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of Na(+) and K(+) ions across the plasma membrane (By similarity). May increase NKA activity by increasing the apparent affinity for Na(+). Involved in down-regulation of E-cadherin which results in reduced cell adhesion. Promotes metastasis.
